GREEN HAT CLASSIC
When you think of golf, you might picture pristine courses, the quiet thwack of a club meeting a ball, and the occasional polite golf clap. But when you mix in The Georgia Hemp Company, their iconic mascot Hempy, and a hearty dose of cannabis education, you get something far more colorful and impactful—a day on the green that truly makes a difference.
This year, The Georgia Hemp Company once again stepped up to the plate—or rather, the tee—with their third annual golf tournament, the Green Hat Classic, held at Heritage Golf Links in Tucker, Georgia. Bright and early on April 19th, 2024, golfers from multiple regions of the U.S. gathered for more than just a day of bogeys and birdies. They came to support The Kyle Pease Foundation, a nonprofit steadfast in its mission to empower individuals with disabilities through the power of sports.
With every swing, chip, and putt, participants contributed to enhancing quality of life for people with disabilities through adaptive sports and other assistance programs. This year, the event was able to raise substantial funds, making it possible to reach even more individuals and help them smash through barriers, both in sports and life.
For The Georgia Hemp Company, it was also an opportunity to bolster community awareness about the benefits of CBD and hemp products. By integrating cannabis education into the event, The Georgia Hemp Company continues to challenge misconceptions, showing that hemp products have a rightful place in health, wellness, and sport.
From the moment golfers stepped onto the course, the air was filled with. . . well, you know. All types of green goodies were front and center, with attendees able to explore what cannabis has to offer in a friendly, stigma-free environment.
The event showcased how local businesses can rally together behind common goals. The Georgia Hemp Company wasn’t alone—partners like Sympleaf Sport CBD joined forces with sponsors such as First Citizens Bank, Flora Beverages, and Starship Galaxy Adult Novelty Stores, creating a lively atmosphere that buzzed with camaraderie.
Adding to the excitement was SaltyMF Enterprises in collaboration with Open Heart Media, who brought the event to life with live podcasts and on-course interviews. Nothing beats hearing firsthand accounts from attendees and sponsors, especially when it includes some humor and spicy commentary. We also launched our 'Georgia Gold Goat Hat'—a tribute to the special event. Grab yours here.
After the final putts dropped, awards were handed out, recognizing outstanding performances from both players and sponsors. There was plenty of applause, laughter, and of course, a true sense of connection that everyone could feel as they socialized and celebrated together.
The immense support for The Kyle Pease Foundation highlights the power of what a community can do when they come together for a greater cause. This tournament wasn’t just about golf—it was about forging connections, fostering understanding, and making real-world changes.
Looking forward, The Georgia Hemp Company is excited to continue its mission of promoting sustainable growth within the hemp industry and beyond. They are always bringing new ideas to the forefront, supported by the community that stands behind them. If you’re a cannabis enthusiast, part of the golf community, or a local business looking to make a difference, keep this event in mind for next year.
