Grant & Erin Stahla
Grant and Erin Stahla rent out bathrooms, showers, laundry rooms and bunk rooms on wheels, to weddings and to disaster zones.
Grant emailed Brad Banyas about a different show, one in the tech business space, and Brad pointed him at the SALTYmf GOAT Podcast instead. They recorded over Starlink while the Stahlas were in Phoenix and Nebraska, where they live, was under an ice storm. Brad spent part of the hour pitching a television show called Pimp My Restroom Trailer and a co-branded clothing line. Erin's response was that they had apparently just partnered. Brad's daughter gets married in October and he has already promised her a trailer.
Grant grew up around a family that bought, renovated and rented single family homes and mobile homes. His own first idea was an entertainment trailer for tailgates that happened to have a bathroom in it. What stuck was the bathroom. The company now covers 17 states with restroom trailers, shower trailers holding eight individual stalls and changing stations, laundry trailers, and bunkhouses that sleep twelve. That equipment goes to hurricanes, fires, tornadoes, man camps and military exercises where ten thousand troops need supporting for two months, and it also goes to a fifty person wedding that has a building but not enough toilets. Erin describes the job as knowing which questions to ask, because almost nobody who calls has ever rented one before. When they cannot supply something themselves, they hand the customer to whoever in the industry can.
Their stated order is faith first, marriage second, business after that, and the business runs on three values they wrote down: humility, extreme profitability, systemized excellence. For their own wedding they picked fast, beautiful and simple, then made every decision against those three words. Grant's offer to other couples who work together is to hand over the mistakes rather than the wins. Erin's favorite fact about home is that Nebraska's state tagline used to be the good life, and they changed it to it's not for everyone.
